::::hands down, one of our absolute favourite places to be in town is The Blue Palms Lounge. Both the Henry Fonda and the Blue Palms are owned by uber-restauranteur Thad Smith, a great soul with a knack for creating outstanding nightlife. Chef Gabriel at the Blue Palms creates dishes that are simply out of this world.

::::let's face it, radio in this country for the most part is ass, plain and simple. corporate interests have killed it (how Steve Jones managed to get a show on a Cl**r Channel radio station is one thankful exception!). there are a few stations still worth noting, and 89.9 KCRW is one of them. exceptional music. just a few of our faves are Jason Bentley's Metropolis, most weeknights 7:30-10pm, Garth Trinidad's Chocolate City on Saturday nights and and Anne Litt's Pop Secret. Listen and enjoy: they stream, so they're as close as your desktop.

There is so much to do in Los Angeles. The city is richly packed with diversity and choices, be it radio, restaurants or outdoor activities. Some of our favourites appear below. Whether you live here or you're planning a trip, you've got to check out Goldstar Events. If you would like to be "in-the-know" about what's happening around town, and not only that, but you'd like deals on event tickets (and we're talking in many cases 50% off ticket prices to some of the most happening happenings), then sign up to be on Goldstar Events' weekly email list. Whether it's live music, theatre, performance art or what have you, Goldstar is THE place to receive amazing deals on tickets. Check out the link below with Luis on the horn. Their weekly email is packed with extensive listings, graphics and deals, all in a user-friendly, easy to read format that makes going out with Goldstar a necessity in Los Angeles. It's like having a friend at each venue who will make sure that you're "on the list". The best thing since the Velvet Rope. Sweet.

Here are some links to a few of the largest studos in town. Paramount just recently resumed their studio tours after a three year break. Sony Pictures (formerly MGM) is located in Culver City, south shore, along with its subsidiary, TriStar. The Warner lot is a landmark in the San Fernando Valley...
